Hello and welcome! If you're here, you are likely in the process of choosing a mental health provider for yourself, your child, or your family. Every mental health professional has a unique approach, just like every family and child has unique needs and expectations. Choosing the right provider is an important decision and I welcome any questions you may have.
I am a Mental Health Counseling Permit holder (LMHC-P) with additional training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Gestalt Play Therapy, Filial Play Therapy, Sand Tray Therapy and Family Therapy. I completed my Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at St. Bonaventure University's School of Education and my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology at SUNY Geneseo's School of Arts and Sciences. As a member of the Cleveland Emotional Health Residency Program, I am proud to offer specialized child, adolescent, and family therapy modalities in a private practice setting while also receiving professional supervision and ongoing training.
While I have received training in a broad range of mental health therapies, I have over 100 hours of specialized training in play and family therapies. I am passionate about working with children and adolescents in a way that is developmentally responsive and engaging! My office has a full-size play therapy room with supplies for expressive arts and sand tray therapies as well, so your child has many options when it comes to how they want to express themselves. All of my toys and supplies align with the Association for Play Therapy's recommendations for therapeutic play, though your child is also welcome to bring a special toy with them.
Adolescents have the choice of holding their sessions in the play/art room or in my office, which has a more traditional talk therapy setup. Some adolescents enjoy using expressive arts and sand tray while others prefer to talk - all of these modalities can be developmentally appropriate and successful!
Please reach out to me by email or phone for more information. I welcome any questions you may have on my approach, education, and training.
